Times are tough for small business at the moment…and with that in mind I have made the decision to return to my NHS background…it feels like the right thing to do.
However, if you have a marine project on the smaller side or canvas repairs you need help with, please do get in touch and I will help if I can - I am actually happy for Baggywrinkles to return to it’s routes, Up-cycling and repairing to keep kit going and out of landfill……it’s all about the small businesses / side hustles that can add up to making a difference.

After a fabulous year of nosing around other people’s boats and calling it ‘work’ we are ready for a little down time over Christmas. But before we down tools we have made sure our local boatyards are well stocked with Baggwrinkles Salvaged Bags - made from the scraps of this year’s boat cover work. Grab yourself a locally made in Cornwall, up-cycled, repurposed, waterproof and completely unique beach bag and support out local Calstock Boatyard at the same time.
Winter 2021/2022
Sails that have reached their ‘Sailed By Date’ are up-cycled into bags. Now available to buy at Calstock Boatyard and Weir-Quay Boatyard.
Well, it’s been great first couple of months for Baggywrinkles!
Ullman Sails in Plymouth have donated all their Beyond Repair Sailed By Date sails for up-cycling into bags and other items in a bid to keep used sails out of landfill - Thank you Ullman!
Some of these sails were up-cycled into bags for Tamar Valley Pre-school’s Christmas Fair.
I’ve been lucky enough to have made some really great contacts in the Tamar Valley who have been keeping me busy over the first part of the winter.
Special mentions to Calstock Boatyard and Weir Quay Boatyard both bordering the River Tamar, one on the Devon side and one on the Cornwall side with two great Boatyard Cafe’s, now both stocking a range of up-cycled sailcloth bags - worth a visit for good cake, coffee up-cycled local products and a good excuse to have a look round the yard!
The members of Cargreen Yacht Club have also been keeping me busy all winter with canvas cover repairs, cockpit cushions and re-covering interior boat cushions.
